Our Vision

We seek to provide accessible, culturally-conscious, and sustainable menstrual products to women and girls in rural Jinja, Uganda. We hope to educate school girls on menstrual health and hygiene management, as well as, empower local women by providing economic opportunity.

Menstrual Hygiene Products

Our Menstrual Hygiene Kit will include a set of reusable sanitary pads and inserts, a storage pouch, a washbasin, and a probiotic laundry soap bar.

Our Reusable Sanitary Pads are designed for women, by women. We strive to ensure our products are:

  • Eco-friendly
  • Cost-effective
  • Durable
  • Culturally-conscious
  • Practical
  • Reliable
  • Safe

Education

We intend for future groups to publish an instructional video meant to assist with the use and care of our pads. We hope to develop a workshop and handbook for educators/ trainers. The workshop will include a content overview of the MHH curriculum, as well as proposed teaching mechanisms to deliver the curriculum to school girls. The curriculum will have critical information including an overview of the female anatomy, menstrual health, myths and taboos around menstruation, and menstrual hygiene management including instruction on how to use our products.

Economic Opportunity

We intend to develop a sustainable business model to enable our pads to be manufactured in locally-owned and operated factories in Jinja, Uganda. In-country production allows us to empower local women through full-time, formal-sector employment, thus stimulating local economic development.
